About

Classroom Assistants in the Academics classes to aid teachers helping adult learners with varying levels of math, reading comprehension, grammar, writing skills, and science studies. The teacher creates the lesson plans and delegates tasks to the Classroom Assistant working 1-to-1 or in smaller groups with adult learners. Classroom Assistant reports back to teacher the progress learners make on the tasks assigned. They also assist learners who need help during Computer Lab. Classroom Assistants have a choice of volunteering during the daytime classes: Mondays-Thursdays between 9 a.m. 1 p.m. or volunteering during the evening classes on Tuesdays/Thursdays between 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Most volunteers work between 2 and 4 hours per week on a scheduled pattern.
