Mission Statement

REACH Literacy empowers adults and children to thrive through literacy education. Vision Statement: We believe that a healthy community is comprised of individuals from all backgrounds who read and understand information as it relates to their health, legal and financial matters. REACH believes that education is the key to breaking the cycle of language and communication barriers. REACH provides literacy programming for adults and children in the Siouxland Community. Diversity and Inclusion Statement: The REACH community is committed to cultivating and preserving an environment of inclusion and collaboration where individuals connect, belong, and grow. We nurture and uplift diverse voices by providing opportunities to express thoughts and values, listen to one another, and embrace our unique narratives.

Description

REACH Literacy is a nonprofit organization that provides literacy instruction and experiences for adult and youth readers through flexible tutoring programs and the innovative reuse of donated books in our beautiful secondhand bookstore. Our experienced and passionate teachers and volunteers deliver innovative instruction and serve as positive role models and mentors for adults and youth.

Our Everyday English programs are designed for adults who are learning English as a Second Language. They may already speak or understand basic English but desire to increase their confidence speaking and communicating in English for personal or employment-related reasons. Our flexible curriculum removes barriers and increases access to practice opportunities.
