We are looking for volunteers to help with our upcoming 6th Annual Trivia Night! The following positions are needed:
Trivia Judges (two individuals): helps trivia guy score trivia sheets after each round. There are 10 rounds. Answers will be given to you.
/Raffle Baskets & Silent Auction( two indivduals): Stays in the silent auction/raffle basket area to help answer any questions about the process. Makes sure to collect all silent auction sheets when auction closes, helps at Front Desk during auction check out time.
Photographer: We need an individual to take photos of the event. The set up of the room prior to the event starting, photos of each table, photos of our Executive Director & Board President interacting with guests, and anything that you think would tell a great story about our evening! You will be credited as the photographer when we use the photographs.
All individuals will help with set up and take down. The doors open to the public at 5:30pm and the event typically wraps up between 9-10pm.
All volunteers will be provided with a Friends of the Rainforest metal water bottle and shirt.
Most of the evening is pretty laid back, though we are very busy when the doors open through the first two rounds of trivia, then again when the silent auction closes and everyone wants to check out.
Please feel free to ask any questions!

Mission Statement
Our mission is to promote a sustainable world by educating and inspiring children and adults to take action to protect, support and expand the Rainforest in Costa Rica and beyond.
Description
WE EDUCATE KIDS AND ADULTS ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF RAINFORESTS. We create curriculum for use by schools wishing to provide upper elementary, middle school, and high school classes with conservation education and scientific research opportunities related to rainforest and environmental conservation.
WE PROVIDE GRANTS TO ORGANIZATIONS WHO DO WORK RELATED TO RAINFOREST CONSERVATION. The programs and initiatives supported by these grants include the purchase of endangered habitat to add to reserves; scientific research in or relating to the reserve’s ecosystems; support for Forest protection and operations including boundary maintenance, wildlife rescue and poaching prevention; and more.
WE CONDUCT OUTREACH AND AWARENESS PROGRAMS. Friends of the Rainforest conducts community outreach to raise awareness of issues relating to rainforests and global conservation issues. This includes speaking engagements at civic clubs, universities, special interest groups, youth organizations and in-home gatherings; awareness-raising events; the publication of a quarterly newsletter; and the creation and dissemination of other educational materials.
WE HELP OTHERS EXPERIENCE THE RAINFOREST. By leading trips to the Forest where participants experience the Forest by staying at one of its field stations, learn about the rainforest through guided interpretive hikes with experienced naturalists and enjoy Costa Rican culture, cuisine and eco-adventure opportunities.
