The 2018 hurricane season has been extraordinarily active in parts of the U.S., with Hurricane Florence currently impacting millions in the Carolinas. As this natural disaster unfolds, the staff here at VolunteerMatch is doing its part to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you are prepared and safe. And if you are looking to help with disaster relief efforts, you know about the most effective ways to contribute.
Be a hospice volunteer! Hospice volunteers are needed for supportive visits to patients, offering emotional support and companionship.
Volunteers can read to patients, hold their hands, talk and pray with them, write letters, be a good listener, or various other supportive acts.
We offer free hospice training. Compassionate Care Hospice is recruiting volunteers to work with our hospice patients and their families in home settings, assisted living settings, and nursing facilities near you! (Somerset, Hunterdon, Middlesex counties).
