WE NEED YOU! Please Give a Donation Today and Volunteer for our VETERANS DAY MEAL EVENT Nov. 10, 2017. We are 100% Community Funded Certified 501(c)3 Nonprofit Charity.
One of the best things you can do to help our struggling homeless veterans, is by giving them a hot homestyle meal, an encouraging word and restoring their hope.
Starting Friday, Nov. 10th, Starting at 5AM (EARLY BIRDS) to 5PM, our goal is to Cook, Assemble & Distribute 5,000 GRAB-N-GO BBQ Holiday meals to Homeless Veterans and those in-need. Choose a shift of 6AM to 11AM (MOST NEEDED) or 11AM to 3PM or 2PM to 5PM when you send in your confirmation. You may also volunteer for the entire day, or a few hours in-between, whatever fits your schedule! Arrive the time of your preferred shift, at Center of Hope, JAC, Inc., 55 E. Villa St. at N. Raymond Ave. in Pasadena 91103, (we are using the church building. Plenty of parking in church lot).
Distribution of meals by teams of Volunteers with vehicles, WHO CHOOSE TO,will be to designated locations in Downtown LA Skid Row, West LA, Santa Monica, Pasadena and Long Beach. Those with Vans or Trucks are encouraged to participate. Volunteers may distribute meals in each shift throughout the day.
VETERANS DAY Holiday hot meals will be BBQ Beef & Pork Ribs & Chicken, Hot Links, Baked Beans, Vegetable, Potato & Macaroni Salads, Fruit, Pies-Cakes-Desserts and Bottled Water.
Activity is open to all able Adults, Groups, Families and Youth with parental permission and/or supervision. Volunteer release forms will be available. There is no age restriction, however very young children who would be unable to participate, consider your safety and of those in your care. Wear comfortable clothes & shoes, bring your own bottled water or soft drink.
Nov. 10th will be our last BBQ event for this year, although we will need volunteers for upcoming Thanksgiving & Christmas Events to help us assemble & distribute GIFT BASKETS FOR FAMILIES. Sign-ups will be posted online. GIFT CONTRIBUTIONS ARE ACCEPTED AND APPRECIATED.
VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION CERTIFICATES will be awarded. If you participate in this, or were part of our LABOR DAY 5,000 MEALS EVENT, and did not receive your certificate, please email us your shipping address and we will send yours via USPS. feedlacounty@gmail.com.
