Rise Against Hunger’s meal-packaging program uses volunteers
for the assembly-line packaging of highly nutritious,
dehydrated meals. Since 2005, over 1-million volunteers have
participated in packaging more than 300-million meals that are
sent to food banks, refugee camps and disaster relief efforts
(including Hurricane Harvey) locally and around the world.
On Saturday, September 23, representatives from Rise Against
Hunger will be at Valley to guide us in a food-packing event
from 3-5 p.m. to prepare 10,000 meals. The packaging process
is a great way to engage people of all ages around one goal: to
put our faith into action by sharing food with people in
need.
