It’s almost time for the Dayton Art Institute’s 52nd Annual Oktoberfest taking place September 23-24, 2023. It takes great teamwork to organize nearly 2,000 individuals to host this amazing festival for the community and we need your help to ensure its success - please consider volunteering! This is the largest and most important fundraising event of the year with proceeds going directly to the Museum’s operating budget.

Many volunteer opportunities are still available, including beer and wine serving locations, admission gates, mugs & tees booth, soft drink booths and lots more. Click this link for our Oktoberfest VolunteerHub website to learn more about volunteer opportunities and register. If you are new to volunteering, you will need to create a VolunteerHub account or login with your existing account to view available volunteer opportunities (please do not create a new account if you have volunteered and registered in our hub before; follow the prompts if you have forgotten your password). View shifts and register now at the Oktoberfest VolunteerHub.

All volunteers must be at least 21 years of age or older. Upon signing up you will be prompted to sign an Alcohol Waiver.

Group Registration

To sign-up for a particular volunteer position, each member of the team must have their own individual account in the Dayton Art Institute VolunteerHub. Once logged-in, the Team Captain should take a look at what is available for the number of individuals in the group (example: if 10 people are in the group, look for volunteer assignments where 10 people are needed). Next, send an email to Monica Walker, Human Resource/Administration Director at mwalker@daytonart.org or Amber Todd, Museum Experience Coordinator at atodd@daytonart.org to hold that shift until all members of your team have registered. Once you have verified that each member of the team has registered, email Monica or Amber their names and she will assign the team accordingly.

Mission Statement

The Dayton Art Institute is committed to enriching the community by creating meaningful experiences with art that are available to all.

Description

Founded in 1919, The Dayton Art Institute is one of the region's premier fine arts museums. In addition to exhibiting outstanding special exhibitions and impressive collections of art, spanning 5,000 years of art history from throughout the world, the museum is renowned for its array of education programming for diverse audiences. The Dayton Art Institute hosts concerts, social events and more including its signature events the annual Art Ball and Oktoberfest. The Dayton Art Institute is also one of the area's premier settings for weddings, parties, corporate meetings and special events. The Dayton Art Institute sits atop a hill on the edge of the Great Miami River overlooking downtown Dayton. The museum's landmark building, designed by prominent museum architect Edward B. Green of Buffalo and completed in 1930, was modeled after the Villa d'Este near Rome and the Villa Farnese at Caprarola in Italy, both examples of sixteenth century Italian Renaissance architecture.
