Nana & Papa's Nest Parrot Sanctuary

Description

This volunteer position is working with the parrots that endure hardships and are life long residence to the parrot sanctuary.

You responsibly are as follow (depending on your experience):

  • Interact with the parrots providing loving care
  • Clean cages and aviary
  • Ensure parrots have fresh food and water
  • Assist with treatments for the parrots that are on treatment plans
  • Assist with fundraisers and special events
  • Assist in making safe parrot toys
  • Stock inventory
  • Assist directors with social media IE Facebook, answering messenger, blogging, update website, and other offices activities
  • Other duties as assigned

Our mission is to protect parrots by providing a holistic safe haven and well-being care to parrots who have experience abuse, neglected, ill or injured. Our ultimate goal is preventing cruelty, continuous rehoming parrots, and unnecessary euthanized.

Description

Nana & Papa's Nest, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit parrot rescue and sanctuary founded by Dolly Rice-Lara and co-founded by Kenneth Lara. The parrots that we received are surrender to veterinarians, animal shelters, and in some cases from parrot owners if there are no other alternative. Many of the parrots are permanent residence due to the hardship they encountered within their life.
