Description

About Story Time:

We are an international team of 14 individuals from Malawi, the US, and Ireland. Story Time is a growing nonprofit which serves communities in rural Malawi, Africa. We are passionate about eliminating barriers to secondary education through the technical and financial support of community initiatives. Learn more about our programs by visiting our website, storytimeedu.org.

About Malawi:

Malawi was and is hit hard by the HIV/AIDs crisis, and as a result, the generation of mothers and fathers is all but entirely wiped out. The mean age of the more than 18 million Malawians is just 16.5 years old. Soon, the 'Invisible Generation’ of young people will be forced to lead the entire country, something that the government is not preparing them to do. Story Time was founded with the idea that communities know what is best for themselves, even if they do not have the financial or technical means to do so. We continually hold community forums with local leaders and residents to gather feedback on programming and ideas for improvements.
