PostSecret is an ongoing community art project started in 2004, where participants anonymously write their secrets on handmade postcards. They mail the artful cards to PostSecret creator Frank Warren, and each week he selects and arranges a composition of secrets for his award-winning Blog. To date, the project has received over a million submissions, some of which have been displayed at the White House and featured in six best-selling books. Warren is working with the San Diego Museum of Man to create a new exhibit featuring postcards collected from contributors in San Diego, across the country, and around the world.

Secrets are the currency of intimacy. Learning someone’s secret and sharing your own helps people unburden and connect with one another by allowing us to feel alone, together.

If you are a fan of PostSecret or just curious about San Diego secrets, we need your help. Join the PostSecret street team!

By joining the PostSecret Street Team, you will play an instrumental role in collecting and sharing San Diego’s secrets.

Tasks include the following:

  • Attend a two-day Street Team Orientation and Training on September 29th and 30th
  • Attend monthly Street Team pop-ups art making stations throughout San Diego
    • Assist with art making, postcard making, explanation of project, exhibit, and Museum of Man’s mission
  • Provide general information about the museum

Shifts will be approximately three hours and will typically occur on weekends.
