Please join Environmental Charter Middle School - Inglewood (ECMS-Inglewood) students, families, teachers and community partners as we celebrate fall with garden projects, student-led campus tours, a home-grown lunch and a ribbon-cutting to celebrate our new classrooms! Harvest Festival will feature campus and community beautification projects, greening workshops led by students and partners and a special lunch featuring produce harvested from our school garden. Join our students and community on Resource Road at our Community Swap Shop, Compost City (featuring our compost stations), Recycled Art, Petting Zoo, among other interactive activities! Additionally, this year ECMS-Inglewood increased our capacity to provide high impact experiential learning to our students with the addition of ten classrooms - including four state-of-the-art GrowthPoint Structures made from repurposed shipping containers. Our expansion also includes improvements to 35,000 square feet of outdoor learning space. Learn more about our expansion plans and take a student-led tour of our new classrooms! We look forward to seeing you on November 4th!

Mission Statement
The mission of Environmental Charter Schools is to deliver vibrant, innovative, interdisciplinary learning opportunities using the environment to engage students and connect them to the wider world.
Description
Our vision is that students are equipped with the knowledge and skills to graduate from college, inspired to discover their own sense of purpose and empowered to become quality stewards of their own communities.
ECS focuses on college preparation and environmental and community engagement through interdisciplinary instruction, small learning communities and community partnerships, and the results speak for themselves: Environmental Charter High School is ranked in the top 3% of U.S. public high schools by U.S. News & World Report, and was chosen as one of three national finalists in President Obama’s Race to the Top Commencement Challenge. We also received an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) award for working to protect public health and the environment, and ECS was in the first round of schools to be given the Department of Education’s inaugural Green Ribbon Award in environmental and sustainability education. In addition, Environmental Charter Middle School - Gardena received the 2015 California Gold Ribbon Schools Award, and a full seventy schools across California have adopted our curriculum and best practices.
