Are looking for volunteers to help clear our nature trail and remove invasive plants using hand tools. Plants include multiflora rose, oriental bittersweet, glossy buckthorn, garlic mustard, purple loosestrife, and others. No experience necessary--we'll teach you how to ID the plants and use the tools. Leather gloves and tools will be provided.
What to wear:
Long sleeved shirt
Long pants
Sturdy closed toed shoes or boots
Hat

Water bottle

Description
Saugus Iron Works National Historic Site is home to America's first successful iron works. Placed along the beautiful Saugus River, it contains estuary, freshwater, and forest ecosystems that are home to a diverse array of animals and plants. This group was formed to gather volunteers in an effort to preserve the park's natural resources through various projects like invasive plant removal, litter pick-up, and trail maintenance.
