Community Grandparents is a project that focuses on increasing the social capital of younger, single parents in Lower Price Hill and retired folks throughout Cincinnati. Volunteer grandparents will be providing the mentoring needed to help parents avoid crises and achieve their goals. By building relationships, grandparents and single parents alike will benefit from the mutual exchange of skills, wisdom, and life experiences.

Mission Statement
To create a thriving and more just community by removing barriers to opportunity.
Description
Founded in 2014, Community Matters grew from the needs and energy of the Lower Price Hill community, and we are firmly committed to growing opportunities from within. We believe that all people can thrive when positive opportunities exist within their community. Our programs include the Resource Center, a place where the community can be linked with resources and opportunities; Community Market, a choice food pantry that enables our neighbors to access free, healthy food; shop1847, a thrift store that offers quality, affordable clothing to the community; and Washing Well, a community laundromat that brings access to safe, affordable, and local laundry. Community Matters also organizes the LPH Community Gardens and The Sanctuary, a community event space.
