The Salvation Army Riverhead Church and Community Center of Riverhead is looking for volunteers, both English and Spanish speaking, to help us during our Christmas Toy Shop. There are several different areas to volunteer in. During October we will be running interviews for families applying for toys. We are estimating a minimum of 300 families to apply. We are running interviews three days a week and are in need of interviewers, especially bilingual Spanish/English speaking volunteers as a large portion of our client population only speaks Spanish.
Dates and Time slots for Christmas Interviewers are as follows:
10/3 and 10/31 12:30-2:30 pm;
10/4, 10/6, 10/25, and 10/27 10:00 am- 1:00 pm;
10/11, 10/13, 11/1, and 11/3 12:00-3:00 pm;
10/18, 10/20, 1:00-3:00 pm
**** Monday 10/9 4:00-7:00 pm**** High Volume day will need more volunteers
**** Saturday 10/21 11:00 am-3:00 pm**** High Volume day will need more volunteers

Going in to November and December we are looking for volunteers to stand kettles for us around the east end of Long island as well as help us with our toy collection and distribution.

Description
The Salvation Army is dedicated to Doing the most Good year round and it’s not possible without the help of YOU, the community members, who graciously donate your time, skills, and funds to make all that we do possible.
We are always welcoming volunteers to join us in our crusade to make the world a better place. We are currently looking for volunteers for several areas of service. The first being our Christmas Department! We are looking for volunteers, especially bi-lingual (but not necessary), to help us run interviews for our Christmas Toy Shop throughout October. For November and December we are looking for volunteers to help with toy collection, distribution, and kettle ringing. Year round we are looking for volunteers to help us in our Food Pantry and Soup Kitchen.
