Project Information
Who: A total of approximately 200 volunteers from The Walt Disney Company, ABC, Astor Services for Children & Families, and KaBOOM!.
**Please note - All youth under the legal working age for this state will be welcome to participate in youth activities but will not be able to participate in building in the construction areas.**
When: Thursday, October 5, 2017, 8:00 am- 3:00 pm
Where: 4010 Dyre Avenue, Bronx, NY 10466
What's Provided: Breakfast, lunch and plenty of water will be provided. T-shirts, reusable water bottles, gloves, and other safety materials will be provided for the projects that need them.
What to Wear: The playground build will happen rain or shine. Please come dressed for the weather in clothes you don't mind getting dirty or a bit of paint/stain on. Also closed-toe shoes are required; sneakers or work boots that you don't mind getting dirty are advisable.
Build Week Schedule
Prep Day 1: Tuesday, October 3, 2017
35 volunteers from the community are needed.
- 8:00 AM - Volunteers arrive and register
- 5:00 PM - All prep work completed (approximate time)
Prep Day 2: Wednesday, October 4, 2017
15 volunteers from the community should be on "stand-by" in case they are needed.
- 8:00 AM - Volunteers arrive and register
- TBD - All prep work completed
Build Day:Thursday, October 5, 2017
200 volunteers from The Walt Disney Company, ABC, Astor Services for Children & Families and the community are needed.
- 7:00 AM - Team Leaders arrive
- 8:30 AM - Volunteers arrive and register
- 9:00 AM - Kick-off ceremony
- 3:00 PM - Ribbon-cutting ceremony
