Refugee Childcare Volunteer

As the Childcare Volunteer you will provide appropriate, safe childcare services for refugee women. Duties will include assisting with childcare both at the Refugee Focus office and off-site for field trips and health classes, as well as developing and using age-appropriate curriculum for children age 0-5.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in providing a safe and caring environment for refugee children ages 0-5
- Play games, teach colors and letters and numbers
- Assist the other refugee women childcare providers
Applicants should be comfortable working with children age 0-5 and communicating with people with limited English skills.
All work will be completed in the childcare room at the refugee office in a child-friendly environment.Clearances Required & Training
This role requires a fingerprint clearance card. The volunteer is responsible for the cost of the fingerprint clearance card ($65). All LSS-SW volunteers are required to attend a volunteer orientation and complete a central registry background check (free).
Location and Timeframe
Volunteers will serve at Refugee & Immigration Services office in Central Phoenix - 3443 N. Central Ave, North Rotunda, Phoenix, AZ 85012. Volunteers needed Tuesdays-Thursdays from 10am to 1pm.
