ORGANIZATION: Safe Haven Recovery dba Dandelion Meadow

  • 3 people are interested

Do you want to change the tide of drug abuse in Loudoun County? Laws are changing, and advancements in treatment options are being made, but how long does it take to heal from trauma and addiction? Where can a woman live when she completes a stay in rehab or jail?

If you feel strongly that you want to do more to help people, families and communities in a tangible way, we need you to join our Board of Directors! We have the blueprints from an organization with over 20 years of successful outcomes - which means a whole community of healthier women and families. We are starting small and building a sustainable organization that will open doors to those who are now hopeless.

FUNDAMENTAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Plan for and protect the health and welfare of the corporation

2. Participate in the legal and financial oversight

3. Nurture and communicate with donors, volunteers and staff

4. Develop partnerships with other Recovery organizations

We need you to advocate and raise funding and volunteer support, and to join hands-on according to the talents and experience you bring to the table. As a young organization, this will require a fairly substantial time commitment to attend bi-weekly meetings, participate on at least one workgroup and attend events - the foundation is laid and we need to add to our dedicated and hard-working Board of Directors to grow into a sustainable, effective program.

About Safe Haven Recovery dba Dandelion Meadow

Location:

P.O. Box 1282, Purcellville, VA 20134, US

Mission Statement

Dandelion Meadow provides a multi-year, holistic residential recovery program for women survivors of addiction and trafficking. We cultivate their professional and life skills to empower healthy individuals, families and communities.

Description

We are developing a recovery home and program with a community support network for women survivors of substance use.

We will offer a 2-year program to provide safe housing and wellness services, such as access to medical and psychological care, educational and vocational development, financial counseling, and access to the recovery community.

Our name springs from the belief that women recovering from substance use are like dandelions. Many view dandelions as weeds that can be trampled on, but we see them as beautiful wildflowers with purpose and potential. We will create a safe haven where recovering women can peacefully take root and flourish in a supportive community. Once our Dandelions have transformed, their puffs of seeds can dance away to begin new lives. Hope lives here.
