Meal Server

HavenHouse St. Louis provides families with healthy, nourishing meals to help ease their stress while they're staying in St. Louis. When they eat with us, not only do they not have to worry about finding food in a big city, but they also get to relax in their rooms or in the hospitality room when they eat their meals.

We are looking for qualified volunteers with the time and means to prepare and donate meals to help support our meal program. We're looking for a variety of foods, including salads, sandwiches, pasta, wraps, and more.

This is a great opportunity for a volunteer group, a business looking to offer volunteer hours and donation incentives to employees, or a personal project to do something good.

Requests, Requirements, and Procedures

  • Preparation:
    • If you or your group are happy to prepare and donate meals, we only ask that you are able to do so in a food-safe environment. This needs to be in a commercial kitchen.
    • If you are a business or employee who would like to donate prepared meals, please contact us so we can discuss how you can best help our families!
  • Health and Safety
    • We ask that all prepared and donated meals be individually packaged during the COVID-19 pandemic. We understand this is an added step. But we hold the health of our patients and families in the highest regard.
    • Any individual or group willing to volunteer their time in preparing meals should also have at least one member with a food-safe certification. This allows us to guarantee that the food we serve is safe and healthy.
  • Subject to Change
    • All requests and requirements are subject to change at any time. As a health-adjacent organization, we must follow certain guidelines and procedures to ensure the health and safety of all our guests. As such, while we may be asking a lot, we also hope that the time spent helping HavenHouse families is also time you will cherish, knowing that you're making a difference in so many lives.
