The American Heart Association sympathizes with those who have suffered from Hurricane Harvey and supports ongoing relief efforts. Research shows cardiovascular disease patients are among the most vulnerable during a crisis like this. Heart attack rates, directly after natural disasters, have been known to increase and continue to affect millions of lives. So, the American Heart Association must continue to fight the No. 1 killer and keep raising funds for critical lifesaving research, heart and stroke education and many other important programs.
