Please visit the new page to apply.
giveNkind.org is a new website that allows nonprofits to post their materials wish list needs. Donors can also post items they are looking to repurpose for a great cause. Nonprofits can search what donors have to give and donors can search nonprofit lists to give their items to organizations who need these materials to serve their clients and better their community. This platform is free to use, benefits 501c3 organizations, and allows donors to receive a tax receipt for their donation. We are an all-volunteer organization and are looking for more team members to help up pick up and deliver donations to our nonprofit partners in Chicagoland area. We have had donors who are looking to give to our local nonprofit partners but who need help transporting the donations. If you have a truck or even can just lend an extra hand to load a track we have, please let us know!
About Us
A prom dress store needs more than just dresses. That is what giveNkind founder Emily Petway discovered when in 2009 she began a chapter of Becca’s Closet, a nonprofit that donates formalwear to girls in need. This organization’s Atlanta chapter had collected 3,000 gowns but needed the mirrors, racks, chairs, tables, and curtains to support the organization’s operations. On a small budget, the organization turned to the press to help spread the word about their needs. The response was often "I wish I knew you needed these items sooner." After this repeated reaction, the idea to create a platform allowing donors and nonprofits to post their donations and needs got its start. Since the organization’s nonprofit incorporation in 2012, giveNkind has grown from winning the 2013 Chicago Hackathon, to receiving a service grant from JP Morgan Chase in 2015 and 2016, to having their own volunteer team of programmers working on the site. giveNkind is a nonprofit for nonprofits that makes this searchable database and contact platform available free to all users. With the site’s official local launch in the spring of 2017, giveNkind continues to grow and looks to expand our reach and increase the impact made by repurposing goods.
Mission: To provide a personal connection between nonprofits and donors who look to repurpose their goods to impact their local community.

Description
GiveNKind is a resource rescue and redistribution nonprofit that provides millions of dollars of essential products donated by national companies to Chicagoland charities. Our programs place resources directly into communities that need them most and keep usable goods that otherwise may have been disposed of from ending up in local landfills. GiveNKind is open to 501(3)(c) charitable nonprofits. We are not open to the public.
Volunteers are vital to our efforts to transform surplus goods into community resources. Please sign up for volunteer opportunities at https://givenkind.org/signup/. Volunteer sessions are available Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
