We need those who can help support us to better serve Summa Health Hospice. Our Volunteer department has programs such as: Pet Peace of Mind, Veteran-to-Veteran, Legacy Writers, Companion, Respite, KeepSake Pillows, Caring Cards, Bereavement, and Caring Cuisine.

Description
Summa Health Hospice is committed to treating the person and not the disease, focusing on quality-of-life issues affecting the patient's entire family. We use the combined knowledge and skills of a team of specially trained professionals that includes physicians, nurses, social workers, home health aides, spiritual caregivers and VOLUNTEERS. Hospice provides care and support to patients and their families in the comfort of their own home. While traditional medical care is designed to cure illness, the focus of hospice care is more comfort-oriented. Hospice neither hastens nor prolongs dying, viewing it as a natural process -- emphasizing quality of life, rather than length of life.
