Illuminate the Lock is a returning art show featuring light projections and the lock chamber at the Upper St. Anthony Falls Lock and Dam in downtown Minneapolis. We will need volunteers to answer questions and have conversations with the public at the National Park Service welcome table, orient visitors to the exhibition, assist park rangers escorting people on the lock wall and monitor visitor safety. No experience is necessary (first time volunteers okay!) but an interest in National Parks, the Mississippi River, and/or the intersection of art and public lands is appreciated. Onsite training will be provided and volunteers may be expected to become comfortable with answers to a series of frequently asked questions (answers will be provided). Volunteers should be comfortable standing and/or sitting for several hours at a time and walking short distances. The event will be outside.
Multiple volunteers are needed on these days:
Thursday, September 20, 6pm - 10pm
Friday, September 21, 6pm - 10pm
Saturday, September 22, 6pm - 10pm
