PRODUCER'S ASSISTANT

Job Description:
Do good in the world while learning the film business; learn important entry level production company skills without selling your soul. This position requires close collaboration with mission-driven filmmaker Frederick Marx, most known for HOOP DREAMS. The assistant will fulfill multiple, varied responsibilities ranging from IT operations, computer software and hardware troubleshooting, repair, and tutorials, effective contact database management and utilization, assisting fundraising events, facilitating real and digital delivery of press kits, posters, press releases, DVDs, film edits, photos, trailers. Assistant ideally will segue to a paid employee on the coming film.

Desired Skills/Knowledge:
* A "Generalist": comfortable wearing many hats, performing varied tasks.
* Comfortable working with people and alone. Capable of being both self-directed and taking direction.
* Good time management, writing, design, and basic math skills.
* Excellent computer skills across multiple programs.
* Specific familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, DVD Studio Pro, Final Cut Pro, and social media platforms is a plus.
* Own transportation is a plus.

COMPENSATION/SCHEDULE/LOCATION

The above positions are work-from-home positions. The Producer's Assistant will meet weekly with Frederick Marx (in North Oakland), either by phone or in person, to get direction, confer on progress, and refine results. More frequent contact for Producer's Assistant will be by phone and email only. Position ranges from 5-15 daytime hours per week at $20 per hour. It is essential that you have your own computer (preferably a mac laptop), internet connection, phone with long distance service, etc., to perform your job duties -- all provided at your own cost.
