Nearly one-half of students in higher education attend community colleges, representing a diverse ensemble who will eventually be among the leaders in such critical fields as science, engineering, education, and health care. Historically modeled as a training ground for students to compete for local jobs, these colleges are now gateways to a world of wider opportunity, offering programs to prepare students for career success and lifelong learning, and smoothing pathways to four-year universities.

Mission Statement
We provide the philanthropic support that helps San Mateo County Community College District students take full advantage of the programs and services at the three colleges of the San Mateo County Community College District: Cañada College, College of San Mateo, and Skyline College.
Description
Led by Interim Director Tykia Warden, the SMCCC Foundation is excited to welcome new directors on our board to help us reach our goals as outlined in our strategic plan. In order to increase the number of students able to complete their educational goals in a timely manner the Foundation will:
- Raise at least $25 million by December 2023, in order to provide higher value scholarships that help students pay the full cost of education and associated living expenses in the Bay Area and to increase financial support for innovative college services designed to improve student completion rates (responds to District Goals 1 & 3).
- Increase the community’s understanding of the role and value of its philanthropic support of our colleges and students (responds to District Goal 2).
- Manage Foundation resources to improve the Foundation’s ability to achieve its long-term strategic goals (responds to District Goal 4).
