The Student Organizing Co-Chair will oversee GLSEN Washington's student events and programming and manage the Student Organizing Committee (SOC) alongside the SOC chair. The SOC Co-Chair will be responsible for creating and overseeing the implementation of Student Programming and events with the committee and will facilitate volunteer recruitment for the SOC. The SOC Co-Chair will help committee members in the implementation of student events such as the LGBTQ Youth Leadership Conference and days/weeks of action led by GLSEN.

-Oversee committee volunteers in implementing student programming and events
-Co-lead the Student Organizing Committee with the assistance of the SOC Chair.
-Recruit Student Organizing volunteers and lead regular meetings and events to engage current committee volunteers
-Oversee in-person visits to LGBTQ student clubs and ensure volunteers performing visits are well prepared and act in accordance with GLSEN's mission and expectations
-Lead and implement monthly LGBTQ student club meetups for the Seattle area. Prepare facilitators and guests to successfully lead the meetings.

-Ability to, and experience in, leading groups and fostering leadership development
-A thorough understanding of LGBTQ+ topics
-Strong communication skills
-Exceptional time management and project management skills
-Commitment to GLSEN’s mission.
-Must have a passion to talk with others about school issues related to reducing bullying & increasing understanding and allyship among youth.
-Prior experience in non-profit leadership is a plus-Prior experience leading and/or recruiting volunteers is a plus
-Prior experience working with youth is a plus
