About THE BRI PROJECT

Location:

2525 E 104TH AVE, DENVER, CO 80233, US

Mission Statement

Rather than trying in vain to suppress or dwell in the tragedy of a loss, The Bri Project encourages us to be driven to healing and growth by the spirits of our family, friends, and loved ones. When I think of my lovely daughter, I can feel that she wants me to adopt the innocent and optimistic outlook she had during her life and do my best to instill it in everybody I encounter. We are not merely spreading awareness about our cause; we are spreading a notion of community, hope, and love. Bri taught me in life, and continues to teach me from heaven, that happiness is never out of reach.

Description

Beyond sharing the story of my daughter and her father, there is a distinct message that I hope to get across by discussing this issue. That is, this problem is probably never going to disappear entirely. Families will continue to be affected by the choking game and suicide, and our loved ones will most often be regarded as statistics by society. The Bri Project highlights the eternal humanity of those we’ve lost by not only offering comfort to affected families, but by raising awareness about suicide and bringing people into something bigger than themselves. The more we all understand what drives our children, siblings, parents, and friends to play the choking game or intentionally take their own lives, the more likely it is that we as a community will be aware when we see signs in others. Knowing that there is already a support system we can trust in place, people will not be as reluctant or nervous to get help for themselves or those they care about.
