Help people find their new best friend! Greeters work with patrons visiting the EAC to view our adoptable animals and assist with the adoption process. Volunteers will get to know the animals in the EAC and patrons' lifestyles which will inform conversations to make the best fit for the adoptable animal. The EAC is expected to get continuous exposure to potential adopters, so volunteers will help to cut down on wait time and focus on customer service. By providing a positive experience for both animals and patrons, we hope all visitors will become lifelong supporters of the Aurora Animal Shelter.
During the volunteer shift, there will be moderate to heavy physical work requiring lifting, moving and carrying objects. There will also be a good amount of walking, bending, etc. As you interact with the animals, there may be exposure to dust, noise, water, animal dander, odor, and fumes.

Description
The Aurora Animal Shelter has been serving the citizens of Aurora since 1950s. The shelter was originally created to help control the rabies epidemic in Colorado by enforcing the state laws requiring pet owners to vaccinate their dogs and cats against rabies, a potentially fatal disease transmitted from animals to people.
Since then we have grown to a full-service, open-admission animal shelter committed to protecting the animals of Aurora by providing shelter and care to any animal that comes to us.
