Waste Not Want Not, a volunteer-based group, exists to prevent the discarding of items that can be used to fight hunger and poverty in our community. We do this by rescuing food daily from numerous sources for distribution to local charitable organizations, and through other cost-effective, volunteer-driven initiatives.
You can make a difference in the lives of many people struggling to put food on the table by joining Waste Not Want Not. Our volunteers rescue surplus, wholesome food and distribute this food to non-profits serving the needy in ten counties in North Florida every day of the year. Volunteers, using their own vehicles and our one truck, make more than 140 weekly rescues from stores, vendors and restaurants to collect donations which they transport to our facility. Other volunteers sort the food and prepare the orders for our recipient organizations based on the needs of the end-recipients. Typically food is distributed within 24 hours. This year, we anticipate rescuing over two million pounds of food and drink.
We'll work with your schedule.
