Put your passion to work as a Making Strides Against Breast Cancer volunteer at our 2017 Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Pennsauken, NJ event on Sunday, October 22nd, 2017 at Cooper River Park (www.makingstrideswalk.org/PennsaukenNJ)! We welcome volunteer groups and individual volunteers. If you are looking to volunteer and are under the age of 14-years old, kindly ask that you have a chaperone that also signs-up to volunteer with you.

Breast cancer is a personal cause to many people. Perhaps you have personally faced the disease or you have had friends or family members who have. Volunteers are the heart of the American Cancer Society and events like Making Strides walks simply could not happen without you. We need volunteers to help with important event details such as checking in walkers, handing out water at hydration stations, answering questions for participants and providing them with information, cheering on walkers, and more. Contact us about volunteer opportunities today! Email pennsaukennjstrides@cancer.org with any questions.

Your support will bring your community together with determination, hope, empathy, caring, and passion, so no one has to walk alone.

About American Cancer Society - Southwest New Jersey

Mission Statement

The American Cancer Society is the nationwide, community-based, voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service.

Description

At Relay For Life events, communities across the globe come together to honor cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against a disease that has already taken too much. The funds you raise truly make a difference in the fight against cancer - just ask one of the nearly 14 million cancer survivors who will celebrate another birthday this year!

Relay For Life teams camp out overnight and take turns walking or running around a track or path at a local high school, park, or fairground. Events are up to 24 hours long, and because cancer never sleeps, each team is asked to have at least one participant on the track at all times.
