The Homework Help Program helps students of all ages (K-adults) in completing homework assignments. Students are matched with a private tutor who assists them in completing homework assignments. The Homework Help Facilitator will oversee the program on a daily basis.
Responsibilities Include:

* Maintain an organized, clean, and welcoming learning environment that accommodates students of all ages with varied learning styles and assignments.
* Establish and support consistent behavioral expectations for students and tutors in Homework Help space.
* Manage student behavior, resolve conflicts, and de-escalate students when they act differently than what is expected in Homework Help;
* Work together with Liberty Plaza Resource Center staff, partner staff, and volunteers to model and manage positive social-emotional development and self-regulation.
* Facilitate relationships: between tutors and students participating in Homework Help, with those students and their families, among Liberty Plaza community at large.
* Guide students through assignments and partnering with tutors to support students as needed.

Description

Twin Cities Housing Development Corporation (TCHDC) is a not-for-profit developer (with 501c3 status) and owner of affordable rental housing for families in the eleven-county metro area of the Twin Cities - Minnesota.

Since the early 2000's TCHDC has provided year round out-of-school time programming for children in grades K-12 at it's two Resource Centers, Liberty Plaza in St. Paul and Calibre Ridge in Roseville. The Programs at Liberty Plaza are PLUS-TIme (Playful Learning with University Students) for children in K-4th grade and Youth VOICE for youth in grades 5-12th. The programs at Calibre Ridge are the Camp Fire Youth (k-5th) and Camp Fire Teen (6-12th) Programs. Over the years these programs have served over 2,000 children and youth who are members of families that live in TCHDC affordable housing communities.

The goals of our Resource Center programs and services are to:

1. Strengthen the economic self-sufficiency of resident families by supporting growth in employment and training services for adults

2. Improve academic achievement and self-confidence among children and youth

3. Help residents enhance the life skills necessary to be thriving member of society
