Military Veteran Volunteers are needed to serve hospice patients who are veterans and civilians, as friendly visitors. During your visits you might: read the newspaper, look through family photo albums, reminisce, play a game of cards, go for a walk, or sit in silence and be a comforting presence. Visits take place wherever the patients reside; in their home, Assisted Living, or Nursing Home.
Next training starts at the end of February 22, 2024.
We provide comprehensive training and ongoing support. You can make a meaningful difference in the lives of the patients we serve. If you live in the Greater Boston area, we have patients near you and can arrange timing and visits around your schedule. Please contact Mindy Sieber, Volunteer Coordinator (617-969-6130) for more information. You can visit our website: www.gscommunitycare.org, and download a volunteer application at: http://www.gscommunitycare.org/pdf_docs/Volunteer%20Application%20form%202017_.pdf.
Due to Covid-19 precautions we have not been visiting patients in person. We expect to resume in-person visits in the coming months. Our next training starts in February 2024. Please contact us if you are interested.
Thank you!
