October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month and we need your help to celebrate the contributions of workers with disabilities and to educate on the value of a workforce inclusive of persons with disabilities.
We are having a Bowl-A-Thon. The event is hosted by Disability Partnerships ( www.disabilitypartnerships.org) and Living Independently for Everyone, Inc. ( http://www.life-mdinc.org/) - two local-nonprofit organizations dedicated to improving the lives of those living with disabilities.
Proceeds from this event will provide adaptive equipment, potential hiring opportunities and job training to persons with disabilities who want to earn an income and achieve independence.
We need volunteers to help with the judging and planning of the costume contest, the raffles, the sponsorships, the bowling competition and recruiting bowlers and day of registration and money collection. All selected volunteers will receive free entrance to the event and get to wear their fun, creative and family-friendly costumes and most importantly - they will help us make a difference in the lives of persons with disabilities!
We need your help. Thanks for your consideration.
