ORGANIZATION: MARTIN MIRACLES INC

LOOKING FOR TEEN LEADERS IN 6th- 12th GRADES
We wanted to let you know about an exciting new program we started within our nonprofit, The Martin Miracles Teen Advisory Board. The Martin Miracles Teen Advisory Board’s purpose is to empower teens from 6th grade through 12th grade by providing them with essential leadership, organizational, communication, and team building skills while ultimately benefiting the community. Perhaps, you might be interested in joining. The teen will gain leadership skills and experiences through real world applications. College mentors will mentor the Teen Advisory board members. The board will meet each month, to envision and implement fundraising events to benefit recipients of Martin Miracles Scholarship Awards. We are looking for innovative thinkers, who want to enrich their leadership skills, while serving the community around them. Martin Miracles is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization helping children transform their disabilities into abilities by providing scholarships for tutoring services.

Description

Martin Miracles provides scholarships for eligible students with disabilities for tutoring sessions in a secondary learning environment that is conducive to their learning style, either in a small group setting or in a one on one setting. Students with disabilities include K-12 students, who are documented as having
one of the thirteen categories as defined by the Individuals Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).These thirteen categories are Autism, Blindness, Deafness, Emotional Disturbance, Hearing Impairment, I ntellectual Disability, Multiple Disabilities, Orthopedic Impairment, Other Health Impairment, Specific Learning Disability, Speech or Language Impairment, Traumatic Brain Injury, and Visual Impairment.
