Day-to-day administrative oversight of the Society; routine building & grounds maintenance; occasional minor carpentry projects; helping patrons with genealogy research; museum displays; manning tables at area community events; public relations; cemetery cleanup; digitizing and cataloging a large photograph collection; an educational program coordinator; and researchers/writers for future publications.

Mission Statement

To serve as a research repository for individuals conducting personal or professional research and to provide assistance to researchers - both locally and nationwide. To discover and collect material which may help establish or illustrate the history of Jackson County - its exploration, settlement, development, activities in peace and war, and progress in population, wealth, education, arts, science and industry. To preserve historical monuments and memorabilia pertaining to the history of the County; to disseminate information resulting from historical research projects; and to encourage citizens in acquiring a greater awareness of, and interest in, the history of Jackson County.

Description

We are a group of Jackson County residents who collect and preserve artifacts and materials pertaining to the County. We also encourage a growing interest in the history and culture of Jackson County and its communities.
