Repair Coaches Wanted for Long Island Repair Café

We are seeking additional Repair Coaches for our second Long Island Repair Café. A Repair Coach would bring their own tools (including sewing machines, pliers, soldering iron, etc.) and explain to people how they are making the repairs to broken items brought in. This is a chance to get to know people, teach them about what you are doing, and help them get things fixed rather than throwing things away. We need people who can bring sewing machines and do fabric/clothing repairs, bring tools to do jewelry repairs, and anyone who can fix anything else especially small electronics, appliances, lamps, bicycles, furniture etc. You are welcome to put out your business cards, but acting as a repair coach is volunteering. We are also looking for books or magazines on repairing things or DIY that people might like to look through. Description
Starflower Experiences offers educational opportunities: presentations and programs for schools, summer programming, seminars and discussion groups for adults, and family events like our annual environmental fair. We operate mainly in western Suffolk and Nassau counties with a focus around our base at Manor Farm, Huntington. We are also Park Stewards for two parks abutting Manor Farm.
