San Francisco Public Library stands with our City in its commitment to the values of inclusion and support for our immigrants. We welcome all people to learn here, not only from our collections and programming, but also from each other. We seek to cultivate connections within our community.
And community begins with conversation! We are expanding our Conversational English groups into every corner of the City, and we need friendly, patient, curious volunteers to co-lead discussion of everyday subjects in plain English.
Could this be you? Experience leading a group or working with English Language Learners is a plus, but everyone will attend training, so interest and commitment are the only requirements. (We ask for a once-a-week or twice-a-month commitment for at least six months.)
We are recruiting for two library locations:
- Main: Mondays @ 4:30-6:00pm or Tuesdays 5:30-7:00pm
- Portola (380 Bacon), Sundays, 1-2 pm
If you are interested or have questions, please get in touch: volunteer@sfpl.org
