Uhuru Furniture & Collectibles is making self-determination in the African community a reality!
We are currently looking for volunteers who want to make a difference and who have experience fielding phone calls.
Volunteer shifts are available Thursdays anytime between 11 am - 6 pm.
Complete service hours, have fun, meet new people and be part of making this world a better place!
We will provide training, you just need to bring yourself. New-volunteer orientations are held every Tuesday at 6 pm or by appointment. Contact us today to get started!

Uhuru Furniture & Collectibles accepts donations of gently used furniture and collectibles. We pick up donations fast! Donors call every day to schedule a pick up and we need help answering the phones on Thursdays especially. Uhuru Furniture is just one of the dynamic institutions of the 501c3 non-profit organization, African People's Education and Defense Fund. APEDF's mission is to defend the civil and human rights of the African community and address the grave disparities faced by the African community in health, education and economic development. We look forward to hearing from you!

Description
Uhuru Furniture and Collectibles is a non-profit store that is a fundraiser for black community empowerment programs of APEDF. We receive a truck load of donated furniture and household items every day. This is a lively, popular Grand Lake area store staffed mostly by volunteers. When you volunteer at Uhuru Furniture, you not only contribute to the success of the store, you become part of a larger movement for peace through social justice. People shop at Uhuru Furniture for low priced, top quality items and to support crucial programs for social justice for African people.
