ORGANIZATION: Project HEAL

The Project HEAL- San Luis Obispo County Chapter is seeking a warm, friendly, and passionate volunteer in SLO County to join their executive board as the Chapter Volunteer Coordinator.

Some of the primary tasks involved with this role are: ensures that all outreach/communication with potential, new, and current Chapter volunteers are up to date (i.e. email/message response time of 48- 72 hours); keeps track of contact information of Chapter members and Executive board ; works with Director of Volunteer Services for local volunteer recruitment; coordinates volunteer roles within the Chapter; attend all executive board meetings.

All Chapter executive board positions require a 1-year commitment from volunteers. Additionally, this role requires approximately 5-6 hours per week; specific times for when this role is completed can be somewhat flexible.

Project HEAL is a 501(c)3 non- profit organization that provides access to healing for all people with eating disorders.

Description

Since its founding in 2008, Project HEAL has provided over 100 applicants with access to live-saving treatment for their eating disorder, established over 30 Chapters and 25 Ambassadors bringing Project HEAL's mission and values to communities across the United States, and developed partnerships with more than 30 recognized eating disorder treatment providers across the US. The primary function of Chapters is to serve as robust local recovery communities that offer resources for those affected by eating disorders and opportunities to volunteer and make a difference in the lives of those affected by eating disorders.

We are an organization with a large volunteer base and have many volunteer opportunities available year-round. We are always looking for new people who have an interest in and passion for helping others suffering from eating disorders, poor body image, and low self-esteem.
