Beds lined up ready for guests, staff and volunteers of the Joseph's House overflow shelter: "Inn from the Cold."

Volunteers are needed to sleep overnight with a staff person and one other volunteer in a downtown Troy church hall. which serves as our emergency overflow shelter every night for the 5 coldest months of the year. Volunteers get 10 hours volunteering time credit per night. You will spent the first 90 minutes helping with snacks, chatting or playing cards or a game with guests. At 11pm the lights are turned off. Around 6;45am guests begin to put away their beds to return to Joseph's House for breakfast and showers, volunteers and staff leave for their day. The beds are comfortable roll away beds. Linens and blankets are provided. There is a one hour orientation to our agency and this task before you start and an application form to complete.
