Prospective tutor information session....come visit our office and learn about becoming a Literacy Volunteer! We will discuss the commitment and expectations for working with our adult students. You will get a tour of our facility, and meet with a tutor and students who will share their experience with you.

Volunteers helping people improve their lives through English literacy.
Position Statement
Literacy Volunteers of Central CT provides instruction, assistance and encouragement to those adult members of our community who want to improve their skills in reading, writing, or speaking English so that they can achieve their work, family, and community goals.
We recruit and train volunteers who tutor and also act as mentors for students that may need help with cultural or societal issues as well as language difficulties.Description
Volunteers are trained to help adults reach their community, work, family, and education goals through English literacy. We serve over 360 students per year from New Britain/Middletown and surrounding towns.
