The Doris A. Howell Foundation for Women’s Health Research is dedicated to making a long-term, positive impact on women’s health. Established in 1995, the Howell Foundation awards scholarships to undergraduate student scientists and graduate nursing students doing women's health research, awards "Community Engagement" grants for research involving underserved or "at risk" women in the San Diego area and educates the public as to the latest women’s health research findings. Through our luncheon lecture series and our evening "Happiness Series," we educate women to be catalysts for better family health and to be their own healthcare advocates. A core belief of The Howell Foundation is that women are the nucleus for their families' health and by "Keeping the Women We Love Healthy" we can make a measurable difference in many lives. The Howell Foundation relies on the generous donations of individuals, foundations and corporations in the San Diego community to bring to life its mission of funding undergraduates, graduate nursing students, faculty researchers and our educational programs.
