- Help an adult learner improve reading and writing skills
- Assist your learner with developing confidence and a positive attitude about learning
- Be able to engage learner in decisions relating to their learning process and goals
- Be able to meet regularly once a week for at least 6 months
- Complete a monthly hours reports
- Complete a 2 1/2 hour orientation class March 22nd and a 2 1/2 hour training class on August 29th from 6pm to 8:30 pm at the AK Smiley Public Library

Libraries offer a variety of skilled volunteer opportunities to make a meaningful contribution to library programs, operations, fundraising events and other community engagement functions. Skilled volunteers have opportunities to lead projects, work with teams of staff and volunteers, learn new skills, and have fun.
