Board Service - Helping Seniors

ORGANIZATION: Drive a Senior

  • 13 people are interested

The mission of Drive A Senior is to allow our seniors to remain independent while they age in place gracefully. One of the greatest challenges for seniors is in finding reliable transportation. Drive A Senior strives to fill this need. Last year our organization provided over 5000 rides to seniors in the south Austin area most of whom experience difficult transportation challenges.
Providing transportation is critical to our seniors most of whom live alone and have quit driving due to health or financial issues. They must rely on someone else for transportation.
We provide free rides to primarily medical appointments but we also take seniors to grocery stores, religious services, grooming services, health services, etc. Our clients are ever so grateful to get a chance to get out of the house and shop, exercise, etc - all the things the rest of us take for granted.
We are currently looking for board members to serve and help lead this great organization. We are especially in need of marketing help, and a financial treasurer. Please contact us if you are interested in serving our seniors.
