Serving our clients!

The mission of Drive A Senior is to allow our seniors to remain independent and to age gracefully in place. One of the greatest challenges to achieving this is finding reliable transportation. Drive A Senior strives to fill this need. Last year our organization provided over 5000 rides to seniors in the south Austin area most of whom experience difficult transportation challenges.
Providing transportation is critical to our seniors most of whom live alone and have either lost the physical ability to drive or have quit driving due to health or financial issues. They must rely on someone else for transportation. This responsibility typically goes to their children, if they have any, but even this becomes difficult since their children may work or live far away. Public transportation can be physically or financially challenging to an older person.
We provide free rides to primarily medical appointments but we also take seniors to grocery stores, religious services, grooming services, health services, etc. Our clients are ever so grateful to get a chance to get out of the house and shop, exercise, etc - all the things the rest of us take for granted.
We are currently looking for board members to serve and help lead this great organization. We especially would like assistance in the areas of marketing, advertising, and fundraising. We are a casual board but have great dedication to this cause. Please contact us if you are interested in serving our seniors.
