Community Threads is a 100% non-profit resale store located in Arlington Heights, Illinois. From a modest start in Buffalo Grove, Community Threads has now grown to nearly a 20k square foot store in Arlington Heights equipped with a break room, kitchen, and volunteer connection counter. With ample parking and easy access, Community Threads has watched both its customer and donor base grow to new levels. Community Threads' volunteers have watched the organization expand and provide new opportunities such as cashiering, serving in numerous departments, and assisting customers on the sales floor. Whether you are looking to gain experience in a retail environment, serve for local charities, or connect with new people, Community Threads is a great place to volunteer.

We have openings every day the store is open and commitments can be weekly or bi-monthly. Interested in serving with a group or additional family members? Contact us and we can arrange a group serve just for you! Check out our website for more information!

Mission Statement

Community Threads is a nonprofit ministry that makes grants and runs programs supporting education and the relief of poverty.

Community Threads brings together a network of local ministries to help the homeless and underserved in our community through the operation of a nonprofit thrift store. The store provides a way for these ministries, our donors and shoppers to make a difference in these tough times. Through your donations of quality goods, Community Threads is able to provide the best stuff at the lowest possible price to shoppers on a budget and then return all the profits back to our communities for much needed services.

All profits from the store go directly to provide quality education to needy students, shelter for the abused and homeless, addiction recovery programs and other critical services right here where we live. We welcome new volunteers into the store. Sign up for our e-newsletter for special coupons and store news.
