Purpose of Position:

Level 1 Clinic Assistants perform supportive tasks in order to facilitate the workflow in the Clinic and Foster Departments and assist with the intake of cats. With volunteer support throughout the day, we are able to provide optimal medical care to our residents.

Time Commitment:

Regular Weekly Shift Options - Tuesday 2-5 PM, Monday or Friday 11 AM - 4 PM

Duties and Responsibilities Including But Not Limited To:

  • Monitoring the health of resident cats as instructed by supervisor
  • Basic clinic cleaning and administrative projects as requested
    • Learning animal handling as well as how to give injections, insert microchips, vaccinate, and draw blood
    • Performing nail trimmings and ear cleanings
  • Learning to enter patient data into the PetPoint database
  • Assisting with other department projects of duties as requested

Qualifications:

  • 18+ years old
  • Veterinary clinical experience a plus, but not required
  • Ability to take and follow direction from supervisors
  • Appropriate interpersonal skills for team activities
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Possess basic range of motion and energy to complete simple tasks such as sweeping, mopping, scooping litter boxes, lifting and carrying small items.
