Level 1 Caregivers help staff maintain sanitary and tidy colony rooms for resident cats and help with basic care such as feeding.
With volunteer support throughout the day, staff can focus on maintaining a stress-free work environment which helps the cats remain friendly and sociable, plus keeps their immune systems functioning optimally so that they can get adopted quickly!
Responsibilities:
Scoop & disinfect litter boxes
Spot clean colony rooms
Wash and fold cat blankets, toys, and bedding
Wash dishes
Clean & disinfect kitten cages
Light building maintenance such as sweeping, mopping, window cleaning, etc.
Other duties as requested
Qualifications:
18+ years old
Must love cats!
Understanding of cat behavior & appropriate handling skills
Willingness to roll up your sleeves and do the dirty work
Appropriate interpersonal skills for team activities and ability to work independently
Ability to follow direction from supervisors
Possess basic range of motion and energy to complete simple tasks such as sweeping, mopping, scooping litter boxes, lifting, and carrying small items

Admission/Adoption: Tree House’s primary mission centers around the rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption of sick, injured, abused, and neglected cats. Since our founding in 1971, Tree House has rescued and adopted more than 25,000 cats.
Spay/Neuter Program: Tree House has sterilized several thousand animals through public spay/neuter as well as our Community Cats/T-N-R (trap-neuter-return) program.
