Docents at the Portland Museum of Art connect with people, inspiring a love of art and shaping memorable experiences in the galleries. We welcome diverse applicants who are eager to share their creativity and passion with visitors of all ages. Docents receive personal, hands-on training from PMA staff, and are supported with on-going opportunities to learn and grow. An art background is not required, but enthusiasm about sharing art with others is.
Interested applicants must attend a required information session on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. This is an opportunity to meet museum staff and current Docents, learn more about the program, and participate in small group gallery discussions. RSVP required; to reserve your spot, please email Katia Christakis at tours@portlandmuseum.org.
