Companionship Volunteers visit and share interests with patients facing the end of life. Many of them still have so much to offer to those who care enough to listen. Companionship visits may involve reading at the bedside, accompanying them to an activity at the nursing home, watching a favorite movie, or simply being there. Companionship is needed for patients residing in a facility (assisted living or nursing home), and in the home. This is a great opportunity for a small group, or individuals to make a difference.
