The mission of HSMC is to develop and use this historic and scenic site for the education, enjoyment, and general benefit of the public. It is the goal of the museum commission that the archaeological sites and collections, scenic views, and rural character of the historic city be safeguarded by preservation and research practices consistent with its status as a National Historic Landmark District.
