"I've really enjoyed living in Mexico, learning Spanish and all about Mexican culture. The volunteer community here is a really lovely thing and I'd like to think I've made friends for life by living here". (Becky, UK to Mexico, 2017).
ICYE UK is urgently looking for volunteers who would like to spend either 6 or 12 months supporting projects throughout Mexico, as well as other countries in Latin America, Africa, Asia and Europe.
Volunteers support local NGO projects which work in the field of Human Rights & Women's Development, Community Development, HIV and AIDS awareness, Environmental conservation, Arts and Sports projects, Education and training and much more. This is a unique opportunity to support a local NGO overseas with the full support of a recognised, International volunteering organisation.
We offer a short term programme (3 weeks to 16 weeks) and a long term programme (6 or 12 months) and full training and support is available for both programmes. Training is focused on intercultural awareness as we are a cultural programme, enabling volunteers to gain a real immersion into their host community through the provision of language lessons and host family accommodation.
As we are a small charity, there is a programme fee for both our short term and long term programmes, starting at £1600. Our programme fees are all-inclusive of return flights, accommodation, health insurance, visa support and much more. Extensive fundraising support is offered to each volunteer.
Benefits of volunteering include the opportunity to develop key interpersonal skills and to gain a unique insight into the reality of development in-action. This is an exciting programme for those keen to experience life +cultural identity in another country.
